How PEL® Works
The Pre-Escheat Location program is a multi-phase process through which UPRR analyzes your company’s investor file utilizing its Next of Kin® database. UPRR’s location efforts access more than 1,000 public and commercial data sources to create customizable databases containing billions of records used to determine current addresses and identify decedent accounts. All securities-related transactions are handled by UPRR’s affiliated broker dealer, UPRR Securities, LLC. UPRR Securities is a registered broker-dealer member of FINRA, SIPC.
For decedent accounts, UPRR has developed the Next of Kin® database, a sophisticated system of proprietary search algorithms and data linking technology that is fully secured and encrypted to identify a responsible next of kin, including executors, relatives and heirs. UPRR is the only unclaimed property agent in the industry that uses such a powerful, proprietary search engine. With Next of Kin® data, the PEL® program delivers specific, actionable information on the decedents’ genealogical ties.
The PEL® program utilizes licensed brokers and UPRR’s U.S. based call center to provide the highest possible rate of investor participation, thereby reactivating the highest number of investor accounts in the industry.
